Returning to Malta for the very first time since 1798, and as part of the events marking the 2017 Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU, Heritage Malta will be organising an exhibition on Grand Master Jean de Valette.

The exhibition will feature de Valette's dagger, gifted to him by King Philip II of Spain in recognition of the Grand Master's victory of the Great Siege in 1565. The poniard will be on loan from the Louvre Museum, Paris. De Valette's dagger will be accompanied by a selected number of other exhibits from the national collection.
